Hello and Welcome Back to another #MugginMonday! Today I’m talking about my around the World (see what I did there) Guest Relations tour. I mentioned last week that I was hired part-time at Downtown Disney Guest Relations, and I was able to pick up extra hours in other parks to make up full time hours! If I’m being honest I don’t remember if this was my very first extra shift in another park, but working at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was an experience I will never forget.

I remember seeing the shift, it was in the daytime, it wasn’t too long so I thought I’ll give it a whirl. I had totally forgotten that it was Star Wars weekends and I would say I realized I had made a grave mistake, but honestly the day wasn’t actually that bad. Studios presented a new experience because I was working in their lobby which is set up super different than anybody else’s (or it was at the time). It is also my least favorite park so I didn’t go in knowing that much about it.

They were trying to get me to give them my cupcake. I didn’t cave.

Also note that at the time I wasn’t a big fan of Star Wars (I like it a lot more now) so basically I was useless beyond the actual systems I needed to use. Even parking that day was an experience because I had to park super far away and be bused over. I was STRESSED. But once I arrived and I met the people I was working with and I got a brief tour I got to work. Let me tell you the energy that day was INTENSE. The Star Wars fans were rolling deep, along with the other guests and basically everyone was on a mission.

I met a Jawa. I didn’t know what it was before it met it. But the Jawa was really sweet and I like them alot.

I learned very quickly the rules and logistics of the Jedi Academy…and that is a hot commodity even if you don’t like Star Wars and you have kids. I learned the rules of all the panels for the day SO FAST- I don’t know that I’ve ever seen so many tears over not getting into a panel (I felt for those people). And then there were people that just wanted some guidance on things to do which I would work with…though I do like two things in Studios (Muppets and Star Tours sometimes lol) so I’m probably not very helpful haha.

I got to work with persons dealing with their My Disney Experience Apps and that was fun! It was a new physical location so I got to walk around and I actually knew how to do that so it worked out. Even though I was terrified I had a really good day at Studios. I ended up learning some cool stuff about the park AND I even went back on my own to do some of the Star Wars Weekends events!

Studios was a big check mark off my work around the World list…next week I’ll tell you about my Disney’s Animal Kingdom Adventure and then I’ll share with you a HUGE CHANGE that happened…just in time for my birthday :)
